Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when you use the MATFMA website, apply for membership, or list your company as a supplier — together with our cookie policy.

Draft, pending legal review

This is placeholder copy describing how the site and network currently operate. The specifics still to be confirmed are marked [in amber] and must be reviewed and finalised before publication.

1. About MATFMA

MATFMA (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website at matfma.co.uk and a membership network for finance and operations professionals working in or with UK Multi-Academy Trusts. By using this website, applying for membership, or listing your company as a supplier, you agree to these terms. The operating entity is [legal entity name and registered address, TBC].

2. Membership

Membership is free and open to eligible finance and operations professionals working in or with Multi-Academy Trusts, subject to admin approval. We may decline or revoke membership at our discretion, including where conduct breaches our community guidelines. Members must keep their account details accurate and confidential.

3. Use of the members area

Content in the members area, including reviews, insights, tools and the community forum, is for the personal use of approved members only and must not be shared, redistributed or scraped. Members are responsible for content they post and must comply with our community guidelines at all times.

4. Reviews

Supplier reviews must be honest, fair and based on genuine experience. Reviews are pre-moderated before publication. We reserve the right to reject, edit for clarity, or remove reviews that breach these terms, are defamatory, or are not based on genuine experience. Anonymous reviews are visible to admin for moderation purposes even where the reviewer's identity is not displayed publicly.

5. Supplier listings

Suppliers may apply to be listed in the directory. Listings are subject to admin approval and ongoing compliance with our standards. Standard listings are billed annually in advance at the rate shown at the time of purchase; there is no grace period, and a listing will be archived if renewal payment is not received before the end of the paid period. Premium listings are arranged bespoke, by enquiry. Suppliers do not have access to the members area, reviews, insights, tools or community forum, except where explicitly invited by admin to submit insight content under our supplier-perspective programme.

6. Payments and refunds

Supplier subscription payments are processed securely via Stripe. Fees are billed annually in advance and are [non-refundable except where required by law / refund policy, TBC]. We do not store card details ourselves.

7. Intellectual property

The MATFMA name, logo and website content are owned by us or our licensors. Tools, templates and insight articles are made available for members' own use within their organisations and must not be redistributed commercially without permission.

8. Acceptable use

You must not use the site to post unlawful, defamatory, abusive or misleading content, attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform, or use automated means to extract data. We may suspend or terminate access for breaches of these terms.

9. Liability

The website and network are provided on an "as is" basis. While we moderate content and reviews in good faith, we do not guarantee the accuracy of supplier listings, reviews, insights or tools, and we are not liable for decisions made based on them. [Standard liability limitation wording, TBC]

10. Cookies

This website uses only the cookies necessary for it to function correctly, such as keeping you signed in and remembering your session. We do not currently use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. [Confirm analytics provider and any additional cookie categories, TBC]

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes affecting members or suppliers will be communicated by email. Please check this page periodically for the latest version.

12. Contact and complaints

Questions about these terms, or complaints about content on the site, should be sent to hello@matfma.co.uk. See also our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data.
